Hey, my name is Imani-Asha. I'm from Barbados, and I'm based in Barbados and Toronto. I'm a visual artist, illustrator, graphic designer, guide, practitioner and creative who is skilled in multiple artistic and design-based areas. As a versatile artist and designer, I have dedicated my life to mastering both traditional and digital mediums. I hold a Diploma and Associate Degree in General Studies, which includes Art & Design studies, from Queen's College in Barbados. I also hold a Diploma in Visual and Digital Arts from Humber College, a Diploma in Graphic Design and Interactive Media from Toronto Film School and a Therapeutic Arts Practitioner Certification from CiiAT.

My career truly began in Art Education, where I taught child and adult courses in various genres in a studio environment. This experience sharpened my skills and deepened my passion for creativity. Desiring the addition of a new chapter in my creative life in the form of graphic design, I seamlessly blend traditional methods with digital innovations, resulting in unique, impactful designs. Renewing my love for art education, guidance and therapeutic art practices, I went on to become properly certified in the therapeutic arts field to deepen my offerings as an art educator and guide, constructing a holistic pathway this time.

I produce art in various forms and methods, while still maintaining what is close to me as an individual. I concentrate my art on aspects of the physical, while dealing with non-physical elements such as mental states. I focus mainly on portraiture and works of the human body to portray identity, expressions, emotions and sensuality. Most of my work is of the greyscale, and is mainly of black identity. Whether it's drawing, painting, digital art and illustration, photography or installation, it's always a unique journey I love.

I am still, however, a multidisciplinary creative and I now produce works in all of my trained avenues, allowing me to broaden my horizons, dive deeper into the realm of creativity and to intentionally foster my passions and scope of practices.
